NEIGHBORHOOD OPEN SPACE COALITION NOSC has always been a big supporter of community gardens throughout the city. Especially important was the insurance coverage they were able to acquire for all of us. Although Greenthumb no longer requires the Creative Little Garden to carry our own insurance policy, we are forever grateful to NOSC. |
The Horticultural Society of New York (HSNY) enhances New York
City’s environmental and cultural life by providing unique
educational, vocational and therapeutic outreach programs, library
resources and exhibitions.

PLANT-A-LOT PROJECT
This project works with organized, dedicated groups and individuals to build, maintain and rejuvenate community gardens. They provide technical and material assistance to community gardens, and help maintain more than 60 gardens which were created with PAL assistance in prior years. We are thankful for the ongoing support of our friends in this organization who took us under their wing in 1979. Our basic garden design dates from the landscaping work they helped us with in 1983. They were also instrumental in the 2004 renovation of the entrance steps, the patio and the arbor and are always there to help with any heavy lifting, donations of plants, advice and much, much more.
