We will be starting to relandscape the woodland garden — the front half of the garden — this summer. We are undertaking this project because of the damage caused by the construction next door. You probably noticed that a large portion of the garden caved into the neighboring basement during the winter, but this is now repaired, and the garden is again accessible to the public.

Introduction

The wishlists on the following pages are a work in progress: we can't have them all, but these are plants we might be interested in. We'll keep the tranquil feeling of the garden by balancing colors and shapes of foliage.

We think most of these plants would do well. We need shade-tolerant plants in the woodland garden. Anything that calls for full sun could only grow in the main planting bed around the patio in the back, which is very crowded already.

Click on a plant's picture to learn about it at Dave's Garden. You'll find detailed descriptions, other gardeners' notes, and lots more pictures.
